Nel x Bran Pups

My best breeding female, Nel, was mated to Welsh Working Sheepdog Champion Bran.

Bran was Welsh Champion in 2023, runner up (‘reserve’) Welsh Champion in 2022, and #3 in the 2022 International Championships.

There are 4 pups from this mating born on 17-July-2024: 2 males, 2 females.

I was impressed with the pups in this litter. 3 of 4 could have been keepers as working dogs, owing to both their temperaments and their demonstrated ability. I had to be satisfied with just one pup, to keep the numbers here down.

COAL

Coal

One of the nicest –as in kind and easy to have around– pups I have ever bred.

Coal –named for his mostly black coloring– is a strong, level-headed pup. Friendly, biddable and even tempered. Quiet and patient in the kennel. Would be equally fine as a companion or light working dog.

Shows keen interest in sheep. A watcher before diving in. EXCELLENT listener. Will be easy to train.

GWEN

Gwen

Bold, sassy, smart and fearless. This pup hits all the buttons for a working collie. At 8 weeks old, she took control of a flock of unbroken sheep, daring them to cross her. She ran around to stop the running group. They stopped and she pushed them back, with carefully controlled steps as if to say, “I dare you!”

Bright, happy, biddable, affectionate, devoted with demonstrated herding aptitude. An absolute delight on and off the pitch. If I could keep another pup, this would be the one.

Quite a pistol!

NICK

Large, solid pup with steady, measured and thoughtful moves on the field. Medium tempered, quiet and easy to have around.
