Gail is quick, sharp, natural working dog. Her small size gives her a speed and agility advantage over larger dogs on sheep. She will be where sheep think they want to be even as they take their first steps, there to arrest them and push them in the direction her handler has asked for. She is a highly biddable dog, collaborative as a working partner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gail’s natural position is on point, well back from the sheep where she can move them and watch their micro-movements, ready to react. She has an inner tension, like a spring, at the ready to do its job. With innate confidence on stock, Gail is willing to engage her full 32 lbs to bring recalcitrant ewes and rams into line. No fears in this one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gail is a classic working dog. She needs little in the way of affection or praise and eats only functionally. She is happy to return to her kennel when the job is done and burst out the door when it is time to start again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sired by Hugh O’Kane’s Roy, one of the top cattle working collies in Ireland, trained by international champion Dewi Jenkins, in Wales, then purchased a record auction price by Hugh O’Kane, in Ireland. Gail showed well on sheep last fall and is ready to resume training in the springtime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
